VLT Dog Member of the Month

November 2024 - Floyd

Floyd was a rescue and has been a nervous boy. Afraid of a lot of things. However, Mr Floyd has become a hiking dog. He is so happy and prances for the entire hike, no matter how many miles I choose.

October 2024 - Roux

Roux is a 5 year old Red Toy Poodle who packs a mighty personality in a 7 pound package. His favorite thing to do is run and hike with his mom. He also enjoys traveling and has been to France twice and Germany.

September 2024 - Ember

Ember is a loving, five year old female chihuahua who loves to Harmon!

August 2024 - Jennae

Jennae came from the Canine Adoption and Rescue League (CARL.) She is about 12 now, half Corgi and half Crazy. She loves to get out and hike.

July 2024 - Leila

Leila is a black & white English springer spaniel with a keen sense of smell and a great love of the outdoors. In addition to being a fan of the VLT community & Marina Park in Ventura, Leila's day job is as the official greeter at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard where Dee is the General Manager. www.riverridge-golfclub.com. Leila is adjusting to her new role/life following the passing of her older brother, Oreo, who passed away in January of this year.

Look for Leila on the trails, at the harbor or in the Golf Shop at RRGC this summer.

June 2024 - Kona

Ventura Land Trust is honored to share our latest dog of the month as a special posthumous memorial for our dear friend Kona who passed much too young at the age of 8. You might have seen Kona hiking at Harmon as he was a regular visitor.

From Harmon Canyon's first weeks in operation, Kona was trail buddy to VLT volunteer Russ Charvonia. They logged many miles and Kona relished all the wonderful smells the trail has to offer. He and Russ spent part of Kona's last day on the trail, and many happy hiking memories will soon replace the tears for Russ and Linda.

May 2024 - Brant and Wigeon

Brant (a 2.5 year Chesapeake Bay Retriever) and Wigeon (a 1 year old Labrador Retriever) enjoy hiking, swimming, playing ball, and socializing/playing with other dogs.

April 2024 - Lulu

Lulu is an incessantly happy, sweet and playful girl. Everyone and every creature is a friend. The beach is her happiest place followed by Camp Canine. She’s known for her hugs, purring and epic snoring. She also serves as the ambassador of C.A.R.E.4Paws in her spare time.
