COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Community outreach and engagement are cornerstones of Ventura Land Trust’s mission to protect and preserve open space throughout Ventura County.
VLT hosts or participates in over 45 community outreach events annually. These can range from tabling at local events, offering guided hikes through our preserves, to environmental educational sessions. By engaging with the community, we can raise awareness of the issues impacting the environment upon which we all depend.
Our goal is to:
Raise awareness and sensitivity to the environment and environmental challenges
Increase knowledge and understanding of our open spaces locally and globally
Empower our community to make changes and support policies to improve environmental quality
Improve skills to identify and resolve environmental issues
Encourage participation in activities that lead to the resolution of environmental challenges
