Hayden Preserve immediately neighbors the famed Cañada Larga property to the north and east, and protects a small section of this important tributary of the Ventura River.

Prior to its acquisition in 2016, this 2-acre property had been an inhabited homestead for decades. Remediating exotic plantings, soil and embankment disturbance, and abandoned debris have been part of restoring the riparian scrub habitat present today.

VLT hosts educational programming, a small native plant nursery, and occasional events here including volunteer opportunities to continue the recovery of this property.
