David has been involved with VLT (or Ventura Hillsides Conservancy, as it was known then) since 2011, and has served as the organization's President. He is the chair of Ventura's Planning Commission, and the former publisher of Southland Publishing (which included LA Downtown News, The Argonaut, VC Reporter, Ventana Monthly, Playa Vista Direct, and CULTURE Magazine). He is very active in the Ventura region, supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County, Downtown Ventura Partners, SCORE Mentors of Ventura County, and FoodShare of Ventura County. He received a degree in Business from San Diego State University. David and wife Tina are still very active with VLT, helping with VLT's annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival in a number of ways.
