A Devoted Family Member, Trailblazer, and Lover of Nature

Celebrating Dori Beller

Dori Beller, wife, mother, aunt and daughter, passed on to her next life on Tuesday November 12, 2024, surrounded by her family at home.   We loved her dearly and she us and we will miss her quiet beautiful companionship.  She faced a devastating disease with courage and persistence and always kept an amazing positive attitude.  She is at peace now and freed from that burden.

She loved to hike and be in the outdoors and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation in Nature.  She was one of the first docents for the Ventura Land Trust when the Harmon Canyon Nature Preserve opened in 2020.  She would hike 4-6 miles several times each week, dragging her friends along, sharing her love for that special place.  In the following years, after her cancer diagnosis, Harmon would be a place of refuge for her.  Even when she could no longer walk there herself, she dreamed of being there and continued to share it with her friends.

We are sponsoring a bench to honor her memory.  The bench will be located near the highest point on the 110 (Morris family) trail that was recently completed this summer.  It has an awesome view of the Topa Topa mountains, Harmon canyon, and Anacapa island.

Dori dearly loved this place.  A donation to Ventura Land Trust in her memory to continue their work would be a fitting tribute to her life if you are so inclined to give.

We’ve all been blessed by her life.
