SONIA KROTH
Community Relations Manager, County of Ventura’s Human Services Agency
Sonia Kroth serves as Community Relations Manager for the County of Ventura’s Human Services Agency where she devotes her efforts to strengthening partnerships and increasing community access and engagement. Her many years in the nonprofit sector include oversight of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Barbara County as well as environmental and cultural work with indigenous communities in southern Mexico. Sonia is a Thomas J. Watson Fellow and pursued studies on the relationship between cultural and biological diversity in Mexico, Bolivia and Peru. She has served on various boards and initiatives including the Mixteco Indigena Community Organizing Project (MICOP), the Westside Community Council, the Kellogg Park Working Group and the Santa Barbara County Commission for Women. In her free time, Sonia strives to find time to read and garden, and enjoys exploring mountains, trails and rivers with her family and friends.
